    Hi you all,

my name is Miriam, I am an austrian/european citizen. I am about to finish my pharm rep education in about a month and I desperately wanna work as a pharm rep in the US. Does anybody know if my education will be accepted in the US? Will I have to do some tests probably? Do I have to do an approbation or recognition of my studies? Maybe you know where I can ask all my questions to the proper authorities? Is there a national pharm rep association or something? Thank you so much for all your answers.

    Regards from Europe Miriam

If you have a degree, then it will be recognized. If you finish your pharm rep education but still do not hold a degree of some kind, then you will be at a disadvantage in North America since your competition for jobs will have degrees.

    Hello Mr. Cora,

thanks a lot for your answer. Well, we have it somehow different over here. To become a pharm rep the only thing you have to do is take an exam in front of the Federal Ministry of Health; then you get the so called "ius practicandi". I did actually go to university, they did prepare me for that special exam, but I didn't get a degree or something. Just a diploma. And I will get a second diploma that I am allowed to work as a pharm rep when I passed the exam. Well, let's see, maybe it will work out that way too. Thanks again for answering . You helped.

Yes, different countries can have different requirements but if you want to get a drug rep job in North America, you will need a degree.
